Before you embark on your coffee brewing adventure, gather your tools and ingredients.
Here’s what you’ll need:
-
Fresh water (the cleaner, the better!)
-
Fresh coffee beans (of course Hoasties Coffee lol)
-
Pour over device
-
Coffee filter (make sure it fits your pour over)
-
Gooseneck kettle (for precise pouring)
-
Coffee grinder (freshly ground or Hoasties ground coffee)
The Perfect Measurements
For a delightful cup of coffee, we recommend a ratio of 2 tablespoons of coffee for every 6 ounces of water.

Brewing Steps to Coffee Bliss
-
Boil That Water!
Start by boiling fresh, cold water. Once it bubbles away, let it rest for about 30 seconds to cool slightly. -
Filter Time!
Place your coffee filter in the pour over device. This is where the magic happens! -
Dampen the Filter
Rinse the filter with hot water to make it stick and preheat your brewer. Nobody likes lukewarm coffee! -
Grind Those Beans
Grind your fresh beans to a medium-coarse consistency—think rough sand or sea salt. -
Add Grounds with Love
Pour the ground coffee into the filter, creating a little dip in the center. This helps the water pool nicely. -
Let It Bloom
Gently pour about 100ml of hot water over the grounds and let them bloom for 30 seconds. Watch those bubbles rise as CO₂ escapes! -
The Slow Pour
Now, take it easy! Slowly pour in the remaining water in increments of 100ml, using a circular motion to keep things even. -
Chill While It Drips
Let the coffee drip down into your mug or carafe. This is where patience pays off! -
Remove the Filter
Once all the water has dripped through, carefully remove the filter—it's hot, so watch out for those pesky grounds! -
Swirl It Up
Give your freshly brewed coffee a little swirl to mix everything together beautifully. -
Serve & Savor
Pour yourself a cup, take a sip, and enjoy every drop of your creation. -
Share & Repeat!
Coffee is better when shared! Brew another batch and spread the joy.
Tips for Success
-
Go Slow: Controlled pours from a gooseneck kettle help achieve that perfect extraction.
-
Avoid Splashing: Keep your pouring focused on the grounds to prevent watery coffee.
-
Experiment: Adjust your grind size and brew time to find your ideal flavor profile.
Now you're ready to brew like a pro! Enjoy crafting delicious pour-over coffee with Hoasties Coffee and make every sip count!
